A chapter of National Assistance League®
|
Assistance League North Coast spends thousands of
dollars annually on books for public school libraries in
Carlsbad, Oceanside and Vista. Volunteers also tutor
reading on a one to one basis to help children catch up to
grade level reading.
We were thrilled to provide funds for book purchases for
these schools in the 2008-2009 school year:
Vista schools - Grapevine and Beaumont
Camp Pendleton schools - Mary Faye and San Onofre
Oceanside - Ceasar Chavez
Fallbrook - Potter Junior High
Since the project began in 1999, we've spent the following
amount each year to purchase books:
1999-2000 - $ 5,000
2000-2001 - $ 6,000
2001-2002 - $ 10,000
2002-2003 - $ 10,000
2003-2004 - $ 2,100
2004-2005 - $ 22,000
2005-2006 - $ 20,000
2006-2007 - $ 20,000
2007-2008 - $ 25,000
2008-2009 - $ 20,000
Jefferson Elementary received $3000 of new books for their library in 2006.
