About Us
About National Assistance League
We are guided by Bylaws, Policies and Standards of National Assistance League
which was founded in 1935 and incorporated in 1949. There are currently 245
chapters, Assisteens®, and guilds located throughout the United States.
National Assistance League was the first nonprofit, nonpolitical, nonsectarian
organization founded in the West which recognizes the potential of volunteers
helping those less fortunate to a better, more meaningful life.
Chapters are autonomous tax exempt, charitable corporations, whose Philanthropic
Programs are actively controlled and administered by chapter members to serve the
specific needs of the local community.
Purpose: "To act as a friend at any and all times to men, women, and children in
need of care, guidance, and assistance, spiritually, materially and physically."

Assistance League North Coast is a community of hands-on volunteers dedicated to
enriching the lives of those in need. Established as a guild in 1992, and a chapter in
2000, Assistance League North Coast is the 105th chapter of National Assistance
League.
We consist of approximately 100 local volunteers who give more than 15,000 hours of
service each year. Our philanthropic projects are made possible by donations, grants,
our thrift shop surplus and our one major fund raising event each year, our Autumn
Fantasy.
Our members give their time to the community through work on various committees
and programs of their choice, and via appointed or elected offices that they hold.
